ChildLine- Nodal agency

CHILDLINE is a national, 24-hour, free emergency phone outreach service for children in need of care and protection. Apart from crisis intervention, CHILDLINE also links children to long-term services. Any child / concerned adult can call 1098 free of cost and avail of the service at any time of the day or night.

In Bengaluru, Urban CHILDLINE has a Nodal organization (Child Rights Trust – CRT) which is for overall facilitation and advocacy in the district along with CIF and partner organizations. Collaborative organizations are working to rescue children in need of care and protection as described in Sec. 2. (25) of the Juvenile Justice (care and Protection of Children) Act 2015. This rescue and related operations are done by communicating and joining hands with concerned departments – police, labor, ICPS, education and etc. In Bengaluru, the Collaborative organizations are APSA and BOSCO. We also have SATHI and BOSCO as Railway CHILDLINEs working in KSR (Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station) and YPR (Yeshwanthapura Railway Station).
