ChildLine India Foundation was the organisation which initiated the concept of ChildLIne 1098 and ran the programme in collaboration with NGOs across the country. The idea was supported by GOI and several NGOs became partners of the initiative. CRT was the Nodal Agency for the same at Bengaluru and was a partner for more than 15 years now. 

Around 2022 GOI decided to take the ChildLine 1098 under its ICPS or Vathsalya programme nationally and we all lost our programme partnership with the project in 2024. Several of the partners of ChildLine were of the opinion that we have to have another network and have to take up work with the communities and children to uphold the rights of the children. As a result we have had several online consultations in recent times. 

The proponent of ChildLIne1098 Ms. Jeru Bilu Morio and a few others who were directly and intimately involved with the idea joined  together and proposed to hold a brainstorming session at Delhi in the month of December 2024. The initiative was supported by UNICEF and decided to invite some of the selected partners of ChildLine. 

CRT and I as an individual were invited by the group and I was also asked to speak in the first panel about “”Playing a crucial role in promoting and protecting child rights, despite the challenges”. About 100 participants from across the country participated in the event, where several possible social influencers, industrialists, CSR representatives were also present and gave valuable suggestions.
